As an educator with over 20 years experience, I have worked in both private and public elementary school settings. I have also tutored privately since 2016.

My desire to help bright young students who struggle to read and even more so to spell, drove me to search for an alternative instructional approach. After searching extensively for information on dyslexia, reading such books as, Overcoming Dyslexia, by Sally Shaywitz, M.D., I eventually discovered the Barton Reading & Spelling System. Since purchasing Susan Barton’s specialized program for dyslexic students of all ages, I have been privileged to work with many students using this program. It has been extremely rewarding and fulfilling to see the tremendous growth that students make when receiving the “right” type of instruction with this Orton-Gillingham influenced program.

I am certified in the Barton Reading & Spelling System and have trained in an additional Orton-Gillingham based dyslexia program. I have a passion for helping dyslexic students make true progress in their reading ability. My students enjoy working with me and I’m thrilled to see both their skills and confidence grow!
